“But I don’t understand why we have to stay? We showed up, that should be enough.”

“Sam, we can’t just sneak off. Emily Post says it isn’t proper etiquette to leave in the middle of a party, even if you’re not having fun,” Janet explained to her bored lover.

Frustrated, Sam glanced around and then returned her gaze to her lover. “Screw Emily Post, she doesn’t have to deal with ‘don’t ask, don’t tell.’ We haven’t had the opportunity to make love in weeks. This is the perfect time for us to get off the base and head for your house. No one will notice we’re gone, not even the colonel.”

“Sam, …” Janet started to protest, but she was interrupted by her lover’s sexy purr.

“Just think, Jan. Cassie’s gone on vacation with her friend, so we could engage in a nice, long bubble bath. Just you and me, all alone in your tub; with no one else around for miles; you wouldn’t have to stifle your moans, and you could scream to your heart's content.”

Without a word, Janet looked at her lover longingly. Hesitating, she finally whispered her question, “Really?”

Smiling, Sam reeled her lover in with her one word response, “Promise.”

“Okay, but just in case anyone's watching, let’s leave separately. You go get the car, and I’ll meet you at the outside gate in ten minutes,” Janet told the excited major who had to grip the railing behind her tightly to keep from shattering the glass she held in her other hand.

Etiquette be damned; Sam was finally going to get some alone time with her partner.
