Challenge: Sam/Janet---infirmary/kleenex
Disclaimer: just fluffy fun
Author's note: I have a feeling this is turning into one of many in a series of "Slice of Life" fics as my beta calls them..lol..Enjoy!

Sam strolled into the infirmary, whistling a little tune; she glanced around the room noticing a few of the nurses were there, but no Janet. One of the nurses noticed her standing by the door and pointed to the CMOs office, nodding her head in thanks, Sam headed in that direction. Walking by the window she stopped to watch as Janet worked at her desk; Sam watched as she sighed, then crumpled up a piece of paper and threw it in the trash.

Continuing on to the doorway she stopped, watching as Janet began to write once more; Sam knocked on the doorjamb to announce her presence. Janet looked up at the sound, seeing her partner standing there she gave a big smile and waved her in.

“Hey there Sam,” she said as Sam walked around to stand behind the chair.

Peering over Janet’s shoulder Sam asked, “What are you working on?”

Janet sighed as she continued to write, “It’s an article for next months AMA journal.”

“Oh…sounds like it should be easy then,” remarked Sam.

“Writing it is the easy part, the hard part is trying not to let slip the fact that I’m writing about an alien virus from a planet light years away,” Janet sighed again as she lay down her pen to rub her eyes.

Sam took that as her cue to start massaging her partners’ neck, working her thumbs into the base of Janet’s skull and moving downward to the top of her spine, trying to ease the tension she found there.

“Oh that feels wonderful,” Janet groaned as Sam began hitting the pressure points located in her neck.

“Why is that so hard to write?” asked Sam as she continued to massage.

“Oh just the fact that I have to totally fabricate all the background information about the subjects involved; at least they were all human so I can keep all the medical findings unchanged,” stated Janet. “It’s like writing fiction, Sam; I hated creative writing class in college.”

“But enough of my whining; did you need something or is this just a friendly visit?” she asked looking up at Sam.

“Oh I came by to pick up a box of Kleenex for Daniel. I was helping him unpack some boxes and one of them held a bunch of dusty old books. Of course he started sneezing as soon as he pulled one out,” Sam replied with a grin.

“Poor man…pick up some antihistamines on your way out and give them to him as well,” Janet remarked going into doctor mode automatically.

Letting her head drop forward Janet tried to relax, letting the work done by Sam’s fingers actually accomplish something. After a few minutes, she let out a deep sigh and asked, “So… is everything set up for tonight?”

Knowing Janet couldn’t see her, an evil grin appeared on Sam’s face, “Tonight? What’s happening tonight?” she commented nonchalantly.

Janet reached up, grabbing a hand full of t-shirt she pulled Sam down until her face appeared inches from her own, “Samantha Carter if you’ve forgotten what today is… you are in big trouble,” she growled out.

“Easy there Doc,” Sam said with a grin, “of course I remembered. Daniel and Teal’c are taking Cass to eat, then a movie and she is going to spend the night at Daniel’s house tonight. So we’ll have the house all to ourselves.”

Janet smiled as she listened to her grinning partner explain, pulling Sam a little closer she gave her a quick kiss and then let the woman stand up. Standing, Sam spun the chair around until Janet faced her; kneeling down, she reached out a hand to cup the doctor’s face.

“How can I forget the day we finally admitted how we felt about one another? It was the second happiest day of my life,” she said stroking the face cupped by her hand.

“Second happiest day?” Janet said frowning, “What was the first?”

Sam leaned forward until she was just inches from her partner’s face, “That’s easy…the happiest day of my life was when you promised we would spend the rest of our lives together,” she replied as she placed a soft kiss on Janet’s lips, which slowly grew longer as the moment intensified.

Just then, several loud sneezes came from the infirmary; Sam broke the kiss and leaned back to gaze into Janet’s eyes, “Daniel must have grown tired of waiting on me,” she commented smiling broadly.

“Umm yeah,” Janet replied, her eyes never leaving Sam’s face, “Kleenex…in the supply room, third row, fourth shelf,” she said, still a little breathless from Sam’s kiss.

Rising from the floor, Sam leant down and gave her one last quick kiss. “We’ll finish this conversation later…at home,” she said with a grin.

Walking away from the desk Sam exited the room; stopping, she poked her head back around the doorjamb, “You know I love you, right?” she asked.

“I know,” Janet replied as another sneeze echoed through the infirmary, “now go…before Daniel succeeds at sneezing his head off,” she said while making shooing motions with her hand.

Janet watched as Sam walked past the window a huge smile making her face light up. Leaning back in her chair Janet sighed aloud, “God …I love that woman.”

Don't worry about addiction....I've written around 70 of the infernal things.....(although admittedly only about 37 of them are here....) as addictions go, it's fairly low maintenance, cheap and harmless :-)
