Title: A Late Night Rendezvous
Author: Ann
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Challenger: [personal profile] ncruuk
Challenge: Sam/Janet, infirmary, sneakers
Disclaimer:  No ownership, simply fluff.

Sam looked both ways in the corridor before quietly stepping into the seemingly empty infirmary, but Sam knew Janet would never leave her post until she was sure the team had gotten away safely. At this hour, most everyone was fast asleep so Sam hoped for a late night rendezvous with her lover.

SG-1’s latest mission was called off at the last minute due to some government red tape, but the team was ordered to stay on base and be ready at a moment’s notice just in case the mission was given the green light. General Hammond believed it will take at least another twelve hours before the mission is approved; however, he didn’t want to take any chances if suddenly the team was given the go ahead.

Janet ran a few medical simulations to pass the time. As usual, she waited to go home until she was sure the team had made it to their destination without incident. Good thing Cassie was away on a school trip for a couple of days or else she would have been forced to go home without seeing Sam off.

Logging off the computer, Janet turned to stand, but someone grabbed her from behind and kissed her neck. She started to struggle until she heard Sam’s voice in her ear. “Hey beautiful, I’ve missed you. What do you say we go into your office and get reacquainted?”

Janet turned in Sam’s arms and reached for her hand.  Sam released her hold and allowed Janet to lead her into the office. Janet closed the door, but before she could lock it, Sam has pulled her toward the couch.

***Meanwhile***

Daniel was making some progress in translating the scroll found by SG-3. He began to make his notations when Jack came bounding in the room. “Daniel, I need your help in a little reconnaissance mission. I think tonight is the night I find out exactly what is going on between Sam and our good doctor.”

Putting his pencil down, Daniel replied, “Jack, how many times do I have to tell you? Sam and Janet are just friends. You and your conspiracy theories; I promise you nothing is going on between them.”

Jack leaned against the door and said, “Care to make a little wager? I could use an extra hundred, what do you say?”

Daniel smiled and replied, “You’re on. What’s your plan?”

Jack outlined his plan of catching Sam and Janet in the act. He had followed Sam earlier and saw her sneak into the infirmary. Now all he and Daniel had to do was quietly enter the room and listen for noises in Janet’s office.

Daniel was a bit skeptical, but as long as they were only listening, he agreed. After shaking on the bet, the two men headed for the infirmary.

Peering around the corner to the room, Jack whisperd, “Just as I thought. No one’s in there. They have to be in Janet’s office. Let’s go.”

Jack and Daniel slowly eased into the room and tiptoed toward Janet’s closed office door. Jack put his ear to the metal and closed his eyes to concentrate on anything being said.

A couple of minutes later, he put his hand on the doorknob, but Daniel stopped him before he could turn the knob. “Jack, don’t you dare open that door. You said listen, not look. What if they’re in there . . . you know?”

Jack whisperd, “C’mon Daniel. Don’t be such a prude. If they really are getting it on, then there will be no doubt about their relationship.”

As the knob began to turn, Daniel grabbed Jack and pulled him away from the door. “Jack, if we do this then we’re no better than any other peeping Tom.”

Smirking, Jack replied, “Daniel, we’re not peeing Toms. Just think of us as . . . um . . a couple of sneakers. That’s what we are. You know people who sneak around and stuff.”

Before Daniel could respond to Jack’s ridiculous new term, Jack reached out and opened the door, and both men peered inside to find an empty room. Jack shook his head and walked out the infirmary with Daniel on his heels.

“Okay, Jack. Pay up. You didn’t find any evidence so give it up.”

Jack kept walking and replied, “I’m not paying. Just because we didn’t find anything tonight doesn’t mean there isn’t something going on.”

***Back in the isolation room off of Janet’s office***

Sam laughed and said, “Good thing security installed that monitor in your office so that you could hear or see anyone who entered the infirmary. And God bless General Hammond for insisting you have this secret isolation room built behind the wall of your office.”

Janet reached for a half-naked Sam and replied, “I’m just glad we were able to retrieve our discarded clothes and open the hidden panel before Jack opened the door. We really cut it close this time, Sammie.”

Sam embraced Janet and began to pepper her neck with light kisses. Pulling away, she said, “I know. From now on, we need to just come directly in here. Besides, there’s nothing like making love in a soundproof room.”

A short time later, Janet screamed out Sam’s name as Jack walked out of the office for the second time wondering where the two women could possibly be.
