Challenge: Sam/Janet--Sam's lab/Mr Potato Head
challenger: Ann
Rating: G
Spoilers: nope
Warnings: nope...just fluff...short fluff but fluff..*grin*

Sam paced back and forth in front of the table in her lab as Janet leaned over it, working diligently at her repair job.

“Can you fix him?” Sam asked the doctor.

“I don’t know sweetie, “ Janet said shaking her head slightly, “Why did you want me to do this? You’re better at working with these materials then I am.”

“But you have smaller hands and delicate fingers it makes working on small things easier,” Sam told her as she stopped and leaned in closer to check the progress.

“Well back up…you’re blocking my light,” Janet said as she worked to fix a patch over a large hole in her patient.

“Oh sorry,” Sam said backing up to begin pacing again.

“How did this happen anyway?” the doctor asked as she used a soldering tool to meld the patch on, using forceps to hold it steady.

Sam stopped and said one word, “Jack.”

“Ahh…okay…I’m not going to ask what he was doing with it then, it will just make you pace more,” Janet said looking up from her work to give her partner a small grin.

“Believe me the next opportunity I get I’m going to trash something of his…maybe one of his hockey sticks in pieces will stop him from messing with my stuff,” Sam grumbled and started pacing again.

“Don’t you think that’s a little drastic?” Janet asked, moving to place another patch on her patient.

“Janet I’ve had him since I was kid…if breaking a hockey stick keeps Jack out of my lab then I say it’s all good,” Sam replied, waving her hands in the air in frustration.

Janet just nodded and continued with her work, after several more small adjustments she looked up and sighed, “Well I think this is all I can do…he’s not perfect but he’s in one piece now,” the doctor said as she attached a few more pieces back to her patient and sat him up.

Sam moved to pick up the patient, she adjusted its nose and ears some, muttering under her breath at the two glaringly different colored patches on its brown body.

“Poor Mr. Potato Head…the bad man hurt you,” she said softly and placing the little hat back on the figure’s head placed him high on a shelf across the room.

Janet watched her partner fuss over the positioning of the toy and shook her head, if Sam’s actions didn’t keep Jack from bothering her stuff then she was going to have to make a few threats of her own…ones involving very large needles.

LOL. Oh thank you so much. I came home early from work because I feel so awful and this just made me smile.

I did read it. It was FABulous! I loved how adorable Sina was - petting cheeks with her paws and communicating with her sounds and gestures. I was happy to see the next installment in this story. Glad to see the muses are back with you!

Thanks, I hope I feel better soon too. Darn Caremark - I still did not get my medication and I'm so nauseous. I took a nap and feel a bit better. I sent my Dad to my doctor's office for some samples.
