Title: The Mysterious Missive
Author: Ann
Fandoms: Law and Order SVU & Stargate SG-1
Pairings: Alex/Olivia & Sam/Janet
Disclaimer: No ownership, simply fluff
AN: This is not my usual fluff, but I felt it was time to reveal what really happened after “Heroes.”

Challenge:

A uniformed officer walks over to a cluttered desk and says, “Detective Benson, there is someone here to see you, but she insists you meet her outside.”

Olivia looks up from the file she is reading and asks, “Did she give her name?”

“No, she just said it was a matter of national security. Personally, I think she is a nutcase, but I thought I should inform you of the situation just in case,” the officer quickly replies.

Standing and grabbing her jacket, Olivia answers, “Okay, I’ll see what she has to say. What does she look like?”

The officer walks with Olivia toward the door and whispers, “She’s very nice on the eyes; slightly taller than you, blonde, and a body to die for. Oh, and she’s wearing dark sunglasses.”

Olivia quickly picks up her pace as her mind is filled with images of Alex. She reaches into her jacket pocket to remove a pair of dark shades and steps out of the building scanning the area for her lover wondering what could have possibly happened to make Alex come out of hiding.

Major Samantha Carter leans against the building with her eyes trained on the front door. She immediately straightens when she notices a very attractive woman in a leather jacket stepping out the door. Glancing at the photo in her hand, Sam knows she has found the detective.

From her immediate left, Olivia hears, “Psst, Detective Benson. Over here.”

Olivia peers into the shadows and sees a gorgeous blonde, but she’s visibly disappointed when she realizes it’s not her gorgeous blonde.

Stepping toward the stranger, Olivia asks, “I’m sorry, do I know you?”

Sam shakes her head and replies, “No, but I really need to talk to you. Is there someplace quiet we can go?”

Olivia tries to buy a little time while she assesses the situation by asking, “What exactly does this pertain to?”

Sam doesn’t answer, but instead hands Olivia a sheet of folded paper. Confused, Olivia reaches out and opens it to find a printed e-mail. She quickly scans the content and immediately looks back to the top to see the name of the sender.

Freezing in place, she reads the e-mail again. ‘Hey Sam, I heard what you said at the memorial. Find this woman, Detective Olivia Benson of the NYPD Special Victims Unit. She can help with whatever is ailing you.’

Glancing once more at the ‘from’ line, Olivia sees glassesofjustice@yahoo.com.

Nervously shifting from foot to foot, Sam asks, “Can you help me?”

Olivia immediately pulls out her cell, calls Captain Cragen, and asks for three day’s emergency leave. Closing the cell, she says, “C’mon, we’ve got a plane to catch.”

Once the two are settled in the airplane, formal introductions are made and Sam asks, “Who could have sent this e-mail? I know it has to be someone close to Janet, but I don’t understand all the secrecy.”

Olivia spends the rest of the trip telling Sam about Alex and her resurrection from the dead. Sam listens very closely to the entire story and says, “I’m happy for you Olivia, but Janet was killed by a Jaff … I mean, a shot to the chest. She couldn’t have survived.”

When the two women deplane, Olivia immediately flags down a taxi, and they both climb in.  She gives an address as the driver pulls away from the curb, and neither woman says a word on the drive.  Olivia sits back and takes in the scenery while a worried Sam wonders where they are going, and what she will find whey they get there.

Thirty minutes later, the cab stops in front of a secluded beach house, and Olivia tosses some bills across the seat. Both women get out of the car as the driver pulls away.

Sam looks at the private beach house and asks, “Who lives here?”

Olivia smiles and replies, “You’ll see. C’mon.”

No one answers the knock at the door so Olivia shrugs and pulls out a key. Opening the door, she and Sam enter the empty house. There are two glasses on the bar and dirty dishes in the sink. Olivia moves further into the house and yells, “Alex.”

When there is no reply, Olivia walks to the sliding door and grins. Turning toward Sam, she says, “They’re on the beach. Let’s go and surprise them.”

Confused, Sam follows Olivia out the door, and the two women immediately put on their sunglasses as they walk down the steps toward the brunette and the blonde.

The blonde notices the new arrivals first and immediately runs toward them almost tackling Olivia in the sand. Sam smiles as she watches the two, and then freezes on the spot when she turns her attention to the brunette standing alone.

Sam takes a tentative step forward and whispers, “Janet?”

Janet walks slowly toward her blonde and replies, “Yes, Sam. It’s me. It’s really me.”

Rushing forward, Sam lifts Janet off the ground and holds her near. Crying, she says, “Oh God, I thought I had lost you.”

The reunited lovers spend hours filling each other in on the past six months. Janet explains the military has access to a sarcophagus that only five people have knowledge of, and General Hammond is one of the five. He was given strict orders not to divulge any information about its existence or use it for any reason. He enlisted Teal’c’s help in using it to bring Janet back from the dead, then the problem became that no one could know she was alive so General Hammond contacted his friend in the Witness Protection Program.

Stunned, Sam continues to ask questions and is deeply hurt that Janet had not contacted her. Taking Sam’s hand, Janet says, “Sam, I wanted so badly to let you know what was going on, but I was told I had to wait at least six months. I owed General Hammond my life so I couldn’t take any chances on him being court martialed.”

Sam eventually comes to accept the explanation and spends the rest of the night making love to the woman who holds her heart. In fact, a series of moans could be heard from behind two sets of doors in the beach house for most of the night.

The two couples finally awaken around noon and slowly shuffle into the kitchen. Janet and Alex volunteer to make breakfast while Sam and Olivia move outside to sit on the deck.

With tray in hand, Janet opens the sliding door and looks out at the two women. Sam immediately turns her head towards Janet while Olivia continues to talk to her.

Grinning, Alex says, “Get a load of those two looking all butch with their jackets and shades on. Whew, talk about hot and sexy. We’re two lucky women, Janet Frasier.”

Agreeing, Janet steps out onto the deck and walks toward her destiny.
